Unilok Principles


At 1/3 or less than the cost of conventional shunter locomotives, Uniloks provide significant cost savings even before counting the savings in the money you don't have to spend on complex yard layouts and on fuel and maintenance of locomotives.

The fitted turntable and a step on and step off capability provide Unilok significant maneuverable in turning on the track and mounting and dismounting rails. The Unilok has the ability to lift itself on the spot, to go on and off high rails, without having to go long distances to the nearest submerged track or crossing.


Uniloks perform as well on the road as on the rail even in restricted space and rough terrain. Uniloks do not get trapped between rail cars as they can mount and dismount anywhere, push and pull and turn 180 degrees on its turntable to couple on the other end.
It is normal to have shunting requirements at different locations within the rail yard, between yards or even outside the yard. In these cases, the Unilok can quickly convert to a road vehicle, allowing it to move quickly to where it is required.
Additionally the Unilok can be refueled at any service point on the road or on the rail to save time and money. It can be fitted with any coupler system and service all rail gauges.

To back up what we say all Uniloks are supplied with a standard 12 month or 2000 hour service warranty.
